Recently, a crane working on the Cathedral close to repair earthquake damage fell and damaged part of the Herb Cottage's roof.  The Gift Shop in the Herb Cottage is temporarily closed.  However, phone orders are encouraged at 202 537-8982, and new temporary space for the gift shop is now open on B-2 level of the parking garage (see below).    If you wish to make a donation to help the Guild with its repairs of damages to the Herb Cottage and the Bishop's Garden,

The Gift Shop in the Herb Cottage has opened in the Cathedral's underground garage on the B2 level.  Come and see us there. Parking is easy - enter off of Wisconsin Avenue. 

Modified hours  January 9th - March 3rd:                                                                             Closed Monday, Thursday & Friday; Open Tuesday & Wednesday 12-5; Open Saturday & Sunday 10 am to 5 pm. Throughout the Year, Tuesdays and Wednesdays - The Tour & Tea Program presents guided tours of the Cathedral followed by a delicious catered tea in the Tower on most Tuesdays and Wednesdays (and an occasional Thurs.).  Check out availability and make a reservation   click here>     Following the tea is the perfect time to shop at the Cottage's annex in the parking garage and see wonderful offerings for home and garden using your discount coupon you received at the Tea.

From April to October (2012),  we are in the "growing season" here in our Gardens.  It is a wonderful time to bring your friends and neighbors to tour the historic and beautiful Bishop's Garden and then follow it with the Herb Cottage's hospitality. Just give the Cottage a call at (202) 537-8982, or email the Cottage's director at cloewe@cathedral.org to make a group reservation for the hospitality.  Or, if when you make your reservation at  Garden Tours, fill out the group tour request form and indicate that you would like to visit the Herb Cottage as well.
